“Meen?” means “who?” and this word is perfectly fine… unless it is used when someone is knocking on your door. Yes, Lebanese would go “Meen?” instead of using the door’s pipehole to check.

So a Lebanese person would go “Meen?”. The respondent would reply “Ana!”, meaning “me!”. There is some magic in this “Ana” response as the identity seeker knows exactly who the respondent is! Beats all systems right?

Calling someone on the Landline is not illogical. Unless, you ask “Are you home?” or “where are you?” after the respondent asnwers. OBVIOUSLY, they are home since you’re calling landline and they answered!
